Bringing heritage back to life
Panette Collection began with an encounter: between people with a passion for heritage and a remarkable place, followed by a second, and then by others. It all began in Bourges, with the restoration of the Hôtel de Panette.
Today, Panette Collection brings together several houses of character: the Hôtel de Panette in the heart of Bourges, the Château du Sollier and Les Cuisines du Sollier just outside the city, the Domaine de Charnay on the edge of the Sologne, and, soon, Maison Limbourg.
Each restoration is guided by the same care and attention: understanding the story a place has to tell, respecting its memory and allowing it to continue living in the present.
Le Souffle du Temps
In every Panette Collection house, guests come in search of more than a room. They come for a story, an atmosphere, a place shaped by memory and able to pass it on.
At l’hôtel de Panette, time begins to slow the moment one steps through the gateway. The cobbled courtyard softens the noise of the street, an antique piece of furniture catches the evening light, and one finds oneself walking more slowly — as though the city outside were suddenly in no hurry either. This is the story of a historic private mansion built in 1418 upon the remains of buildings once belonging to the Sainte-Chapelle of Bourges. Six centuries of memory, still present in every stone.
At Château du Sollier, time takes on a different rhythm: that of long evenings when no one thinks to look at the clock, and conversations linger around the table. This is the Berry that George Sand loved — rural, unhurried and deeply attuned to the seasons. She would bring her friends here — Flaubert, Turgenev and Pauline Viardot — so that they might breathe, pause and reconnect with something essential. Le Sollier seeks to revive this art of living, not as a memory of the past, but as a way of life that remains possible today.
At Charnay, time becomes silence: the silence of ancient oaks, still waters and a hundred-hectare forest where nothing calls for haste.
A human story
Bruno Lageline
Founder of Panette Collection, Bruno Lageline is guided by a simple belief: places have a soul, and one must first learn to listen to them before seeking to transform them. With a passion for historic houses, objects marked by time and interiors imbued with life, he approaches each project as a house to be lived in and brought to life. His appreciation of the long view and his attention to detail shape the Group as a whole.
Guillaume Lecluse
A long-standing friend of the family, Guillaume Lecluse works alongside Bruno Lageline in shaping the development and day-to-day life of each house. He ensures a careful balance between vision, purpose and the realities on the ground, while maintaining a constant focus on the Collection’s overall coherence. His role is to connect the houses, the teams and their guests, so that each may find its rightful place without losing its own distinctive identity.
Pierre-Émile Lageline
Bruno Lageline’s son, Pierre-Émile Lageline oversees the Hôtel de Panette in Bourges. Closely involved in the development of Panette Collection, he helps bring its houses to life each day while preparing them for the future. His presence gives the project a natural sense of family continuity, allowing the spirit of each place to be passed on and reimagined from one generation to the next.

Bringing them to life today calls for particular care: understanding their character, respecting the stories they hold and intervening with restraint — always to restore, never to transform. Much like the restoration of a painting, every touch should serve to reveal the original.

At both Château du Sollier and Domaine de Charnay, geothermal energy provides a more environmentally responsible approach to heating. Across all our houses, careful attention is paid to energy use and equipment, guided by common sense and a commitment to sustainability.
