The name of this room refers to the surprise we had during the restoration work.
We uncovered an exceptional chimney flue.
But ‘Discoveries’ is plural for a reason. Our greatest find was hidden above three ceilings: a 15th-century inverted-boat timber frame.
You can admire it in the ‘Nuits & Lumières’ and ‘Printemps de Bourges’ rooms, where the ceiling height is truly unmatched.
