« Mon cher ami, Je vous écris du grenier où je me suis réfugiée pour échapper à l’agitation de la maison. C’est un lieu que j’aime (...) comme une mémoire endormie sous la poussière. Il y fait frais, et par la lucarne, j’aperçois les cimes des arbres qui dansent sous le vent. C’est là que je viens rêver et travailler, loin du tumulte du monde, dans cette retraite silencieuse où les pensées prennent leur essor comme des oiseaux surpris sous les poutres. »
